Taba Chake is a finger-style guitar player, singer-songwriter, performer and dreamer from a small town called Doimukh in Arunachal Pradesh. Having grown up in a Nyishi tribal family, his music is inspired by tribal folklore, birds and nature. He sings in Hindi, Nyishi and English and has been recognised for his unique vocals, songwriting and percussive performance style. His debut EP titled ‘Bond with Nature’ was released in 2016 with a 10-track album ‘Bombay Dreams’ being released in 2019.
An agricultural engineer and entrepreneur, Tage Rita, is the country’s first ever pure kiwi wine brewer under her label ‘Naara-Aaba’. Her wines are known for being completely organic and free from chemicals, and her work has helped contribute significantly to the livelihood of the farmers of the area. In 2018, she was honored with the Women Transforming India Awards, organized by the United Nations and NITI Aayog.
Tongam Rina is an Indian journalist and human rights activist from Arunachal Pradesh. She is currently (2020) the Editor of The Arunachal Times and president of the Arunachal Pradesh Union of Working Journalists. She has been repeatedly threatened, and in 2012, was near-fatally shot outside her office after she wrote critical articles about corruption, militants and dam projects in Arunachal Pradesh. She was awarded the 'Prize for the Freedom and Future of the Media’ by the Media Foundation of Leipzig, Germany.
